Maleic Anhydride applied to food additives is mainly used in malic acid and tartaric acid.  Malic acid, also known as 2-hydroxysuccinic acid, a white crystalline or crystalline powder, has a strong hygroscopic, easy to dissolve in water, ethanol. Tartaric acid is a carboxylic acid and the chemical formula is C4H6O6. It is found in many plants, such as grapes and tamarind. It is also one of the main organic acids in wine. As an antioxidant added to food, it can give food a sour taste. 


How is Maleic Anhydride Applied to Food Additives?


It is made up of maleic anhydride, hydrogen peroxide and others. 

Food additives can maintain or improve the safety and freshness of food, improve or maintain the nutritional value of food, and improve the taste, texture and appearance of food.
